Driving in the Countryside

If anyone else is interested in adding video footage to their blog, I highly recommend visiting this site for an easy-to-follow tutorial on the topic. Here is a video from a couple of months ago that I took on Jenny's digital camera while she was at the wheel of the Corolla. I will send a gift of a bottle of ginger beer to the first person who can correctly name* the road upon which we were travelling at the time the video was taken.

*Must post the answer as a comment on the blog within seven days of this initial post.

Just a total guess... the Mid Western Highway? Or the Boorowa Road? Basically I have no idea.

The videos are cool.

Hiya Katie,

I am glad that you like the videos! Now that I know how to "video-blog", I will endevour to add more to my page.

Your guess with Boorowa Road is really very close to the right answer and you might win the prize! (In fact you took two guesses, but I will let it slide because you are the first to have a crack). The road is not a highway - that's my hint, but it is near the Boorowa Road.

Bye Katie!

Hiya Pia,

Thanks for having a try. Your guess is fairly close too... But not the correct road. Hint #2: "CAN YOU guess the ROAD name?"

Hey Pinko
Cant watch your vid at the moment cos work computers are dodgy anyways Guessing is the Olympic Way? Bottling my ginger beer this afternoon will have to compare the end products in the near future my no1 versus i am guessing your around No 20

Mixmaster!

Bottling your first brew, hey? That's pretty exciting. I take it that you have rustled the bottles up from somewhere? I bought and drank, (with friends), a couple of cases worth of long necks to get my bottle collection started. Then an older bloke next to Jen's old share house provided the major source of more bottles once we had switched over to drinking our own homebrews. I found that it is possible to buy bottles, but for the slightly higher price of buying the bottles from the bottle shop full of beer, you may as well do it that way. I will be very interested in how your ginger beer comes out. Very interested in the way that I look forward to drinking some of it!

Here's a tip to get more bottles together. While you are waiting a few weeks to get carbonation happening, (so you can't drink you homebrew yet), tell your friends to drink longies and give you the bottles. As an incentive, offer a full longie of homebrew in return for every three for four empties they sling you...

Your guess at the Olympic is close because the road is fairly close to Cowra, but your heading in the wrong direction. Are people reading my hints? Nevertheless, I will provide another hint. Hint No #3: A scenic road - you can see more frogs this way.

Is it Ried's Flat Road Pinko? I am yet to taste the delights of your ginger brew....

That sounded really odd.

PS Pia, if you're reading this, I'm so sorry -I'm a slacko - will be writing you an email pronto!!

Kenyu Road on the way to Frogmore??

Is it the Canowindra Road?

Dear Angie - you are the winner!

Indeed, the road that Jenny and took on our scenic journey back to Cowra was Kenyu Road. We stopped at a dilapidated mudbrick "house" and had to stop again a little further on for a agitated gaggle of geese. (One of them even tried to attack the Corolla). So Ange, you have earned yourself a bottle of my ginger beer. I will present it to you on the weekend of April 1 - seriously! To Katie, Pia, Mixmaster and Finn - thanks for playing and stay tuned! How about a tasting session for homebrews on that first weekend in April, Mix'?

Again, Ange, well done - definitely a hobbit from the (Cowra) Shire.
