Nightcaps and O'Malleys

O'Malleys served as the venue for a nightcap - a reward after the vigorous dancing we had been engaged in. Shockingly, a seed pod from high up in the tree under which we were parked, dislodged itself and hurtled with great force in to Tracey's drink.

Swayed by the determination and success McMaster has had with detoxification, I broke with tradition and ordered a "half-pint" as a token effort towards detoxification. Holding such a small drink, I was obviously vulnerable to the predictable wise cracks - thanks Ash.

Hey Mix',

Ever wondered where the saying "on the wagon" or "off the wagon" comes from? No, I didn't think so - but there are extra points the first person who posts the correct answer.

Hey how's the homebrew? It's a ginger beer, right? I bottled my second ginger beer (Munton's) yesterday morning. I find that they tend to have an extended fermentation period. That brew made my eighteenth, and I intend to put my nineteenth on this afternoon.

I'm having a barbie here this arvo, so I guess that I'll probably stumble from the wagon too, but I will see if it is possible to take it easy with so much homebrew around. You know about the kind of determination that can take!

What is your next homebrew going to be? How did you know that you ginger beer was ready to bottle, by the way?

Hooroo Mix',

Hey Pinko
Starting with Coopers Ginger beer then following up with some tooheys lager, cos it was around. will let you know if find any tricks to the ginger beer but from previous experience it was very similar to beer though generally not as alcoholic. Question where'd you get all your bottles??

Hey Pinko
what do i win for knowing where the mentioned saying came from?? It supposedly developed from in America the on i like best is prisoners on the way to be hanged were allowed to stop at a debaucherous establishments to get BLIND,before getting back on the wagon for their journey to execution. Another reason is being on the water wagon and hence abstaining at the time, probably to do with the teperance movement but thats boring.

Your last guess is the correct one. I would have sent you the prize, but you didn't identify yourself! The prize has been rolled onto the latest quiz question now!
